

Jerald "Jerry" Adron Andrews, 93, of Largo, Florida, passed away on January 27th, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose kindness and wisdom touched the lives of many.
Born on March 15th, 1931 in Norman, Oklahoma to Abe and Girtrue Andrews. Jerald lived and grew up in Norman at the city park where his dad was the park supervisor. The park is now named Andrews Park in honor of his father. The legacy of this park was one he cherished throughout his life.
A proud alumnus of the University of Oklahoma, Jerry went on to earn his master's degree from the University of Florida. He was a passionate football fan, cheering on both the Oklahoma Sooners and the Florida Gators with great enthusiasm.
He was a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. It was at Greenville Air Force Base in Greenville, MS that he met the love of his life Mary "Betsy" Elizabeth Hice. In 1957, Jerry married Betsy and together they built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and love. They were blessed with three children: David Andrews (Denise), Chris Andrews (Kathy), and Kara Madigan (John). His love for his family extended to his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Throughout his career, Jerry worked as a teacher, counselor, and administrator. He was dedicated to his students working tirelessly to help them reach their highest potential. He retired from Pinellas County Schools (Pinellas Technical Educational Center) after a long successful career.
A member of Oakhurst United Methodist Church, Jerry found peace and joy in his faith. He served on many committees and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Jerry found great pleasure in tending to his yard and flowers, taking pride in nurturing his favorite plants - Plumbago, Roses, and Hibiscus. His green thumb and dedication to his garden were a reflection of his appreciation for life's beauty and growth.
Jerry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of faith, love, and integrity will live on.
Funeral services will be held at Oakhurst United Methodist Church on February 15th at 11am. A reception for family and friends will immediately follow the service.
