

He was born and raised in the Boston suburbs, and was the son of John and Dorothea Dean. He retired in 1989 from Delta Airlines in Boston after spending 35 yrs with the company.
John served with the US Army stationed in Passau, Germany. That is where he met and later married his late wife, Elisabeth “Liesl”(Oberneder) . They returned to the states in 1953 to start a family.
John and Elisabeth retired to Seminole Fl where John volunteered for many years with the Guardian ad Litem program helping guide young children thru their younger years. He also volunteered for many years at St Justins church in Seminole. He loved the serenity of the beaches and spent most summers at Plaice Cove in N Hampton Beach, NH as well as the many Pinellas County Beaches. John and Elisabeth also loved to entertain and loved to travel in their younger years which took them to too many places to mention. There was always time for trips especially to Germany where Elisabeth’s family resided.
John leaves behind: his daughter Patricia (O’Sullivan), sons Jack and his wife Yong, and Michael. Grandchildren Melanie (Lord), Byron, Lindsey (O’Sullivan) and Jacob.
In his later years he united with his half brother, Geoffrey Dean. He was predeceased by his wife Elisabeth in 2018. As well as his sisters: Patricia Wilson, Nancy Wooles & Cherie Hembrough.
