DILLER, John E, 87 of Largo passed away on April 26, 2017. John was born on May 16, 1929 in Naperville, IL, 1946 NCHS graduate; attended North Central College and served six years in the Illinois National Guard. He was an officer of Bethany Lutheran Church, Naperville Heights homeowners Assn., Indian Guides and Color Guard Captain of Naperville Municipal Band. John and his wife Gwen married in 1949 at Bethany Lutheran Church. Following his retirement as Assistant Postmaster in 1984 they moved to Belleair Bluffs, FL. In Belleair Bluffs he was elected City Commissioner in 1987, retiring as Mayor in 1997. He also served on the board of Florida League of Cities, Clearwater Noon Lions Club, Elder, Vice President and President at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Largo. In 2015 he and Gwen moved to Regal Palms. They have two children, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A visitation will be on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 12:30pm – 1:30pm with a Memorial Service at 1:30pm all at Christ The King Lutheran Church of Largo.
