John G Emmons

John G Emmons 87, of Crystal Beach Florida and former resident of Sand Key Florida passed away August 17, 2014 at Brookside Hospice House in Palm Harbor. He was born in Providence RI and has been a Florida resident since 2000 coming from Cohasset MA. Mr. Emmons was a self employed business owner and franchise distributor. John was a graduate of Boston College class of '49 receiving his degree in business administration. He honorably served our country in the US Navy. He was a Roman Catholic and member of St Luke Catholic Church in Palm Harbor. John served on the board of directors for three banks in MA, and was a long time member and past president of the Cohasset Golf Club, and member of Belleview Biltmore Golf and Country Club of Clearwater. Survivors include his wife Veronica Emmons, A son Jay Emmons, two daughters Judith Emmons and Susan Robba, a brother William Emmons (Mary Ellen), Veronica's son,s Richard W and Stephen B Bush, and 11 grandchildren; Courtney and Christopher Robba, Bo, John, Miles Dunne, Jessica Emmons, Laurin, Kristin, Brittany, Megan and Bo. He is predeceased by his first wife Marjorie (Coughlin) Emmons, son James Emmons and daughter Liane Dunne. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of unforgettable friends. A life celebration gathering is planned for Saturday beginning at 1:30 pm at Serenity Funeral Home 13401 Indian Rocks Road in Largo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Suncoast Hospice c/o Brookside Hospice House 164 West Lake Rd Palm Harbor FL 34684. A memorial Mass will be held at St Luke's Catholic Church in Palm Harbor FL on Thursday September 18th at 11am.
