Louis Robert Capozzoli

CAPOZZOLI, Louis R. “Uncle Lou,” 70 of Clearwater, FL / Springfield (DELCO), PA, left us for eternal life with Jesus on April 30, 2023. Lou was born May 26, 1952, in Philadelphia to Elizabeth Yvonne Palermo and Joseph Lincoln Capozzoli, Sr.

He attended Springfield High, Class of 1969, and went on to Penn State where he earned his BS degrees in Agriculture and Horticulture. Lou retired from Shop Rite Supermarkets in Nov. 2006 after 37 years in the industry. He started his career with Pantry Pride. Lou is an accomplished pianist starting at the age of four, he had a passion for tennis and baseball, gardening, and cooking. Most of all, Lou’s happy place was on the beach in Sea Isle City and at home on Sand Key Beach in Clearwater.

Lou is survived by his life partner of 38 yrs., David Quinlan; brother, Robert Patrick (Margaret “Peggy” Mangan); sister-in-law, Sylvia Capozzoli (Valtri); two nephews, two nieces, three great nieces, and five great nephews. He was preceded in life by his loving parents and brother Joseph Lincoln Capozzoli, Jr. (Sylvia Valtri).

Services honoring Lou will begin with a visitation in Florida on Friday May 5, 2023 from 4pm-7pm at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774.

Funeral services are also to be held in Pennsylvania on Thursday May 11, 2023 at St. Kevin Roman Catholic Church, 200 W. Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA 19064. Visitation 9:30am to 10:30am followed by his Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
