Mercedes embarked on a noble path in her educational journey and graduated from a school of nursing in Santiago de Cuba, earning her nursing degree. She dedicated her life to the care and well-being of others, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched during her career in nursing.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Mercedes found solace and joy in her faith and hobbies. She had a deep passion for bible reading and prayer, finding comfort and strength in her spiritual connection. Mercedes also delighted in the art of crochet craft, pouring her creativity and love into every stitch.
Mercedes was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Angel Escalante. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Mercedes Escalante, and her adoring grandchildren, Ruben Angel Botello-Escalante and Josue Samuel Botello-Escalante.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her family and all who knew her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and loving heart.
