

Robert Oscar Lyons Sr. passed away peacefully in his bed surrounded by family after battling Alzheimer’s.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 41 years, Marian Lyons. Bob was a dear father to Makay Tautu (Pele), Amy Balderree (Peter), Benjamin Lyons, Wendy Lyons, Lindsay Bowen (Justin), Shanna Lyons Latimer, Kristin Lyons (Heather), and Bobby Lyons.
He was a grandfather to Sae, Telisa, Alema, Tyson, Sina, Brayden, Tyler, Camy, Kanyon, Sieyur, Kysen, Aspen, Brecken, McKinley, Denali, Malaya, Payton, and Matthew. A great-grandfather to Maeli, Beau, Nora, Lila, PJ, Toma, AJ, Sunny, Stone, Dallin, Klay, and Benny. A loving brother to Linda Lyons, and the dear son of the late RO Lyons & Brunell Allen. Robert was a family man to say the least, and would do anything for them.
Bob was born and raised in Florida and was active in his family’s business of farming, raising tobacco, and watermelon. Growing up, Bob loved fishing and had many fond memories spent with the Lyons and Deloach families.
He served in the U.S. Navy and went on to be a head football coach in Mayo, Florida, and Georgia before relocating to Utah and starting his family and business, Lyons & Associates. He went on to be a successful insurance Executive for many years. While running the insurance business with his wife, he picked up many hobbies, which included running a ranch in White Rocks Canyon and being the head coach of several of his children's sports teams.
Bob dreamed of retiring in Florida and did just that. Spending all his time with family who lived here and those who came to visit.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10895 Hamlin Blvd, Largo, FL 33774 on 1/6/2025 at 11am. Following a graveside service with honors will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 5233 118th Ave N, Clearwater, FL 33760 with a reception to follow at Serenity Funeral Home. There will be a wake to say final goodbyes from 3- 5pm at Serenity Funeral Home the afternoon prior on 1/5/25.
