

Robert was born on June 15, 1945, in Grafton, North Dakota, to Clara Jean Wosick and Robert Ray Sr. He graduated from Minto High School and attended Mayville Teachers College for one year before choosing a different career path. Robert went on to build a successful career in carpentry and construction. A skilled craftsman, he earned his state contractor’s license and founded his own business, Ray Contracting Inc., where he took pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career.
On October 28, 1967, Robert married the love of his life, Constance J. Narlock. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and lasting memories, sharing nearly 59 years of marriage.
Robert was a member of AARP and enjoyed many hobbies and interests. He had a passion for playing pool and was a devoted fan of Jimmy Buffett’s music. He also faithfully cheered on his favorite Tampa Bay teams—the Buccaneers, Rays, and Lightning. Above all, Robert cherished spending time with his family and watching the generations grow.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Constance “Connie” Ray; his daughter, Jennifer Ray; his granddaughter, Taylor Ray; and his great-grandchildren, Jaxon (10), Juna (6), and Josie (2). He is also survived by his siblings, Richard Ray, Tim Hardy, and Penny Hardy.
Robert was preceded in death by his son, Robert Ray, who passed away in 2012.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at St. Jerome Catholic Church.
Robert will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love for family, and the many lives he touched throughout his life.
