Roger "Terry" Terrell Poole

Terry was born on September 25, 1936, in Sumner, Illinois, to Geneva Marie (Heckler) and Earl Bruce Poole. He graduated from Sumner High School and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Botany from Eastern Illinois University.

On June 11, 1960, Terry married the love of his life, Jane Amelia (Goodlink) Poole. Together they built a wonderful life centered around family, education, and community. Terry dedicated 33 years to teaching, primarily within the Pinellas County School System, where he inspired countless students through his passion for learning and his steady kindness.

A man of faith, Terry was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Clearwater. He was also an avid antique car enthusiast and an active member of the Pinmar Car Club, where he enjoyed sharing his love of classic automobiles with fellow enthusiasts.

Terry is survived by his son, Aaron Poole; his daughter, Ann-Marie (Poole) Meder, husband Jason; his grandson, Jacob Meder, wife Noa; and his granddaughter, Avery Meder.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Clearwater. A graveside service will take place afterward at 1:00 p.m. at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park.

Terry will be remembered for his warmth, integrity, and deep love for his family and friends. His legacy of kindness and curiosity will continue to inspire all who knew him.
