Ruth L Herting

HERTING, Ruth L., 84 of Dunedin passed away on Monday, 1/16/2017. Ruth was born on February 19, 1932 in New York City, New York to the late Lee & Josephine (Zibiliski) Hays. She attended St. Agnes Grade School in New York and graduated 8th grade from St. John Berchmans in Chicago. Ruth graduated from St Patrick Girls High School in Chicago in 1949 where she was in Glee Club and was a cheerleader. She studied Opera and loved to sing at church. In 1952 she met Donald J. Herting and they were married on June 27, 1953. They moved to Dunedin in 1993. Ruth was a member of Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church, Dunedin, the Dunedin Country Club, Dunedin Historical Society, Dunedin Hospital Volunteer, City of Dunedin Parks & Recreation Board and Support, Rotary North & City of Dunedin. Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Donald Herting of Dunedin, two sons Michael Herting of Largo and Daniel (Gayle Brankin) Herting of Highland Park, IL, a daughter Patricia (Stephen) Kevil, Elmhurst, IL along with five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Memorial Services will be held at Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church, 750 San Salvador Dr., Dunedin on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11 am. Memorial Contributions may be offered to the church.
