T Grafton Abbott, 97, of Treasure Island, Florida, passed away Friday, October 31, 2014. He was born on December 12, 1916, in Montclair, New Jersey, to Tilden and Josephine Abbott. He worked for United Technologies, as a chief engineer and taught pilots how to fly planes, for Pratt & Whitney. He married the love of his life, Sarah Rood, in 1943, and retired in 1970. Throughout their 60 years of marriage, they traveled the world together for many years. Sadly, in 2003, he lost his wife to cancer. T Grafton was a very generous man and very loyal to all his family and friends. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Gilbert and Sarah Schmeck, and three grandchildren; Melissa Kelpinski, Courtney Kelpinski, and Heather Schmeck. A celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m on Saturday November 15th at Serenity Funeral Home and Serenity Gardens Memorial Park 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, Florida.
