

Doudna, Thornton Edgar “Duke” 82 of Largo, left our world Dec. 21 to join his parents, sisters, brothers and son Kurt in God’s heavenly kingdom. Born May 16, 1929 in Bloomington, Wisconsin he was the son of Frank and Isabelle Thornton Doudna. Duke served 21 years in The US Marine Corps retiring as Major. He went on to own and operate a power lawn equipment business in Seminole. After retiring from his business he enjoyed travel, golf, and volunteering at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital. He was a member and past president of the Seminole Lions service club. Duke is survived by his Loving wife of 60 years Clara Haselwander Doudna of Largo, whom he married November 24, 1951, sons Duke Doudna of California and Bret Doudna of Seminole, daughters Dawn (Bob) Kenney of Lakeland, Florida, Tina Walkup of Seminole, Starr (Dennis) Dillon of Oldsmar, Dana (Paul) Stevenson of Seminole, brother William Doudna of Ocala, Florida , sisters Norma Reddeman and June Sheehan, both of Wisconsin, 15 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. Duke is pre deceased by his son Kurt Doudna. A Funeral service will be held 10:30am Friday, January 6 at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Bay Pines National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bay Pines Veterans Hospice or the Seminole Lions Club.
