COLLINS, William T "Bill", 88 of Largo, FL passed away on December 21, 2014 at Hospice Woodside Care Center. Bill was born January 7, 1926 and attended school in Wauchula, FL. After high school he served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Bill then went on to graduate from Florida State University, and went on to have a successful career in store management with the JC Penny Company for nearly 40 years until his retirement at age 60. Bill had a great sense of adventure and a love of travel, first with his love of sailing followed by several years in his motor home. He is predeceased by his wife Joyce (Joy) Steffens Collins. Survivors include sons; William T Collins Jr (Priscilla) of Peachtree City, GA, Michael Collins (Kelly) of Winter Park, FL, daughter, Carissa Timmons (Joel) of Sebring, FL, brother Jack Collins (Evelyn) of St Petersburg and his "beloved" Brenda Fisher of Largo, FL, and five grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday December 28th at 1 pm at Serenity Funeral Home 13401 Indian Rocks Rd in Largo, FL (727) 562-2080. A celebration gathering will take place in the funeral home immediately following the service.
