

It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Alecia Lynn Borders, affectionately known as “Peaches,” who departed this life on March 20, 2025, at the age of 77 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Alecia was born on August 19, 1947, in Memphis, Tennessee, to James Cummings and Francis Barbara Bridges. She was a devoted and spirited woman whose warmth, humor, and unwavering loyalty left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Alecia committed herself to meaningful work and community service. She was employed by the New York City Traffic Department, Cox Communication, the United States Postal Service, and most recently served as a dedicated Clark County School District Crossing Guard, ensuring the safety of countless children.
Alecia was a proud non-denominational Christian whose faith guided her throughout life. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, playing games on her Fire Tablet, and rewatching her favorite shows and movies—The Mummy, Jurassic Park, and The Incredible Dr. Pol—which always brought her joy.
Alecia shared 41 loving years with her wife, Gail Russelle Barnes, with whom she was united in marriage on May 23, 1998. Their enduring bond was a testament to love, partnership, and mutual respect.
Alecia will be deeply missed by her wife Gail; her daughter Andrea; daughters by another mother, Mavis and Kelli; her grandchildren Racheal, Devall, Nefertiti, and Simone; and her great-grandchildren Jace and Gia.
She is also survived by her brothers Rickey Borders and Jon Anthony Borders, and sisters Anita Norris, Frances Williams, Henriette McGowan, and Lynnette Brown, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched.
A Going Home service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123 officiated by Chaplain Angelica Noble.
Following the service, family and close friends are invited to gather at the family home, to continue celebrating Alecia’s life and legacy.
