Alfredo Laschiazza, a loving father, husband, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on November 10, 2020, at the age of 92. Affectionately known as “Al”, “Dad”, “Papa” and “Pop” to his children and grandchildren, he will be missed and fondly remembered for his generosity, witty sense of humor and gift of sharing life stories.
Al was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois to Anthony and Assunta (Ruscitti) Laschiazza. He had five siblings – Lillian Loguzzo, Frank, Adeline Buckley, Romeo, and Juliet Affonso. Married to Patricia A. Hutchinson (Gee) in 1960, Al and Patricia together raised five children - Anthony Laschiazza, Susan (Laschiazza) Russell, Christine (Hutchinson) Sapp, Faye (Hutchinson) Brooke, and Allen Hutchinson.
Al was preceded in death by his son Anthony, beloved wife Patricia, and loving siblings, Lillian, Frank, Adeline and Romeo. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a Combat Veteran in the Korean War passing away just one day before his favorite holiday, Veteran’s Day.
Throughout his life, Al shared his love of boating, fishing, bowling, donuts, Italian sausage, and military service not only with his family, but with his son-in-law, Mark Russell, twenty-six nieces/nephews, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and countless relatives, friends, and coworkers across many states.
Due to current restrictions, a traditional memorial service will not be held; however, the family will host a celebration of Al’s life at a later date in Las Vegas, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to a Veteran’s organization of your choice in his honor.
