Ben Flippin was one of a kind. A Texas boy who fell in love with Las Vegas 60 years ago. A successful entrepreneur who supplemented his income playing gin at the Las Vegas Country Club. A lady charmer and endless romantic who recited Shakespeare and poetry to all who would listen. For 83 years, he entertained us (and himself) with witty stories and jokes. Married for 50 years to Shirley Flippin. Father to Dee Ann Flippin, Braxton 'Flip' Flippin, and Syndi Flippin-Dudley. Grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of three. He will be in our hearts and memories forever. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 28, Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue.
