

Born in the Philippines to Ricardo & Tranquilina Serna, he lived most of his life in Jacksonville, Florida.
During Ben’s career in the U.S. Navy, he travelled the world while serving on the USS Nimitz and the USS Eisenhower. After retiring as Petty Officer First Class, he worked as a Financial Planner and Real Estate Agent. Through hard work & dedication, Ben earned the position of Regional Vice President of Financial Services and was selected Realtor of the Year. He also served as President of the Filipino-American Association and was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where he was an usher for several years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, going out to eat, watching movies, playing mahjong, and watching football (especially his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers).
Ben is survived by his wife Erlinda, daughter Shereen O’Neill and her husband Tom (Orlando, FL), son Sherman Serna and his wife Ann (Columbus, OH), daughter Sybil Anne Ocampo and her husband Rick (Las Vegas, NV), and his three grandchildren Kaylie, Gabrielle, and Richie. He is also survived by his brothers Ludovico (Larry), Rudolfo (Rudy), Teodorico (Teddy), Alfredo (Fred), and Danilo (Danny), as well as his many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Ben was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all.
