Bryan Paul Coron, 62, peacefully left this world in the arms of angels on November 8, 2020 at home holding the hands of his children Breanne and Max and his wife, Heidi. Bryan valiantly and quietly fought cancer for over 2 years, always keeping positive and reassuring his doctors, nurses, Family and Friends that he was going to beat this. He was blessed to have his Sister Belinda, Sister-In-Law Becky and husband Darrell, Nephew Joe and wife Kimberly, many old friends and many speaker phone calls all supporting him through his last hours. He was truly loved by so many.
Bryan had a love for life like no other and always woke up ready to work hard and ready to play hard. Always the life of the party, he loved to be the first one on the dance floor, but never missed a days work due to too much fun. Born in Denver, Bryan spent most of his childhood in Gray, Maine. He developed a very strong work ethic at a young age and at 12 was delivering newspapers in his sled around Crystal Lake on snowy days, always grateful when Mr. Hartwell would let him warm up in Dry Mills Store. While attending Gray-New Gloucester High School he worked numerous gas station and mechanic jobs for Lafe Wallace, Frank Davis and Gordon Leavitt. All of these 3 fine men took him under their wings and taught him valuable life’s lessons. He also spent many hours as a teen with the newly married couple John and Carol Taylor, who treated him like a son and showed him a strong family foundation. It was while playing intramural volleyball in high school that he met the love of his life, Heidi Burns, and they have been happily married over 41 years. He also shared a decades-long close friendship with his Best Man Tony Orlando.
Bryan was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fly fishing and hunting. His children and grandchildren all went on wonderful hunting and fishing trips with him. He always treasured his yearly deer hunting trips in Maine with his Father-In-Law Jerry Burns. After moving to Colorado, Bryan and his great friend Shawn Becker enjoyed many a hunting trip for antelope, elk, mule deer, pheasant, and ducks in Colorado, Utah, Arizona and their annual bird hunting trip to South Dakota. He had a wonderful circle of hunting/fishing/cigar smoking friends in CO. He took great pride in his prized catch and release of a Golden Apache Trout in the White Mountains of Arizona.
Bryan had a passion for woodworking, which developed into a lifetime career using his craft from Maine to Colorado to Nevada. After serving in the Air Force in Minot, ND, he returned home to Maine and opened a cabinet shop in Gray, designing and building many custom kitchens, custom homes, a wildlife museum in Freeport, and several motels. In 1992 He and Heidi decided to pack up the kids and make the big move to Colorado, where he also had a cabinet shop and built custom homes. At the urging of his Father, who lived in bustling Las Vegas, the Family moved there in 1996, where Bryan project managed millwork construction of restaurants, bars, locker rooms, hotel suites, theatres, and night clubs in almost every hotel/casino over a 25 year span for one of the largest Millworkers in the West.
Of course Bryan would tell you his biggest accomplishment is raising his kids Breanne & Max and his Grandchildren Kiajae & Aariana. He was so proud when Bre decided to join the Carpenter’s Union after earning her degree in Interior Design/Building Construction Technology. And nothing made him happier in this world to see a healthy little boy Max arrive after incorrectly being told that they were having a girl (although the nurse had to hold the shocked Daddy up). Bryan was so proud to be able to send Max to NYC to continue his studies. Always at his Grandchildren’s events, he was the driving force behind Kiajae’s successful BMX racing and scooter competitions and Aariana’s biggest softball fan. Coaches and parents all knew who Papa was.
Bryan is predeceased by his beloved Sister Rochelle Coron Plummer, Father Earl Whittaker I, Father-In-Law Gerald K. Burns, Niece Elizabeth Rochelle Coron, Great Nephew Spencer Cormier, and Step-Brother Blaine Chase.
He is survived by wife Heidi Michelle Burns Coron, Daughter Breanne Coron, Son Maxwell Coron, Grandson Kiajae Kraut and Grand-daughter Aariana Kraut, all of Las Vegas, NV; Mother Pat (Walter) Chase, Lewiston, ME; Sister Belinda (Jonathan) Sharp, Rochester, NH; Brothers Earl (Valarie) Whittaker II, Las Vegas, NV; Claude (Melanie) Coron, North Waterboro, ME; Edgar Coron, Delta, CO; Richard (Theresa) Coron, Lewiston, ME; Mother-In-Law Audrey Burns, Gray, ME; Sister-In-Laws Rebecca (Darrell) Lee, Gray, ME & Zephyr Hills, FL; Amy (George) Philbrick, Barrington, NH; and Brother-In-Law Shawn (Tammy) Burns, Gray, ME; 30 Nieces and Nephews, 61 Great Nieces & Nephews, and one Great-Nephew.
