

Carlos Navia, 70, a long time resident of the Henderson, Nevada area, passed away November 8, 2012 at Saint Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, Nevada, after valiantly fighting a battle against cancer. He was born August 9, 1942 in Cochabamba, Bolivia to Edith Valdivia Padilla and Alberto Navia Carrasco. He found his soul mate and partner for life, (Nidia Rojas), at the age of 27. They met in New York and married on November 21, 1970. Carlos Navia served in the United States Marine Corps for four years and worked for the United Parcel Service as a System Analyst Manager. He retired after 35 years in 1999. Carlos loved movies, traveling, politics, hiking, and volunteering. He loved telling jokes and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. He leaves a legacy of love and laughter touching everyone he met with his joyful personality. He found joy spending time with his family and friends and particularly his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Nidia, his daughters, Edith Estrada of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, Virna Navia of Nevada, and Susan Fotheringham of Nevada, Cromwell Estrada, (son in law), Brian Fotheringham, (son in law), and his grandchildren Christian Carlos Estrada, and Gianna Estrada.
