Carmine John Marino

Carmine John Marino, formerly of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on October 2, 2021. He was born on July 15, 1940, in Follansbee, West Virginia, the son of the late Frank Marino and Rose (formerly Rocco) Marino.

Carmine was a Standards Engineer at Lockheed Aircraft in Ontario, California. He was a member of the United States Army and was stationed overseas in Germany for a period of time; a graduate of St. Anthony’s High School in Follansbee, West Virginia; an active member of his pool club; avid golfer; excellent all-around athlete, and self-proclaimed “best football player to ever come out of the Marino family.” Carmine was a gentle, loving husband, father, and grandfather who lived for the time he got to spend with his family. He was a class act and a giant of a man.

In the last years, his battle with serious medical issues showed his courage for facing life challenges and his spirit to overcome and win. Despite his pain, Carmine came out as a hero and stayed strong until the end.

Carmine will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his brothers Bill, Ernie, Sam, Jim, Alfred, Frank, and sisters Lucy and Francis; and his father- and mother-in-law Guy and Rose Fuscardo. Carmine is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sally (formerly Fuscardo) Marino; his daughter Kristen (formerly Marino) Britton and grandson Tanner Britton, of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by his sister Dolly (formerly Marino) Cruise of Fontana, California; brother Raymond Marino of Follansbee, West Virginia; his brothers- and sisters-in-law Guy Fuscardo, Sandy Lee, Judy and Chuck Barbe; and his beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were his chosen family.

On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, a funeral mass will be held at 11:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Henderson, Nevada. There will be a Celebration of Carmine’s Life immediately following the mass. His family will be present and welcome loved ones.

Each day you strived to live, your body too weak to be. Your love will live forever since your heart has set you free. Now you walk so bravely; you feel the pain no more. I know the angels guided you to Heaven’s door. Memories I will hold dearly; your smile warmed my heart. And through my life, you will live on; you’ve touched so many hearts. Hard days may be before me; it’s all part of God’s plan; by why you had to suffer deeply, I may never understand. This wouldn’t be your wish for me to be forever sad. Please believe you were no burden; I will ALWAYS LOVE YOU, DAD. My life has changed forever since the day you passed away. In Heaven, you will be waiting to hug me again someday.
