Love you CJ, thank you for everything brother.

I am sharing this photo because this was the time I was in highschool and I would travel to Las Vegas to ateh Marylynn’s house for the summer (which is where I went pretty much every summer for a good amount of years). I would go there to help watch Maryssa and Cj when ateh Marylynn would have to run errands or pick up Jordan from school. This photo was taken when it was just me, cj and Maryssa at the house and cj and Maryssa were fighting! Lol Maryssa told me that cj wouldn’t stop bothering her so I had to separate them. I said “STOP! I’m going to put you guys in time out, you want to go in time out??!” And I look at Cj and of course he’s just smiling at me, all excited, laughing and said, “YES! I want to go in time out!” I was soo confused. He was basically happy that he was going into time out, so I said “okay, go into time out. I’m going to take a picture for auntie Marylynn, so look sad.” *that explains why he doesn’t really look sad but really pretended to be haha* and that is why it’s so crazy to me when I look at Justin and see an exact duplicate of you. He reminds me so much of you!

I remember when you would babysit me in my room when i was younger. I haven’t seen you in a long time but i wish i could’ve see you one last time, Rest peacefully cousin 🤍

CJ was like a little cousin to me. I first met CJ back when Jeremy and I were in high school. I was the first one out of our friend group to get our license and none of us had jobs so I would pick up all our friends and we would just go to the park and play basketball for hours. One day Jeremy said he couldn’t hang out because he was watching his little cousin. We didn’t care and told him to tag along. This is when CJ was still shorter than all of us but all I remember is he could hang. We would be joking around and just roasting each other for hours and he would just roast us even harder. And from then on I would refer to CJ as “CJ the savage.”
A couple years passed and I didn’t get to see him but Jeremy would give me updates every now and then about the savage stuff he would do and he wasnt just tall, he was TALL TALL.

I was blessed to have the opportunity to see CJ again the weekend before he passed. My cousin and I took Jeremy out for his birthday and CJ was Jeremy’s “DD”. CJ was just gonna pick him up but I insisted that he came down to say hi because I haven’t seen him in awhile. He ended up going out with us later on that night as well. The whole time I was joking around with him saying “man you don’t even remember me, we used to hang out all the time” and he reassured me that he remembered playing basketball with us all the time. I was able to introduce him to my cousins too that day. All my cousins already consider Jeremy their cousin so when we introduced him I said “this is CJ, he’s a savage just like us. he’s Jeremys cousin so you know that means he’s our extended cousin. he’s OUR cousin now.”

Prayers from my family to yours. I’m glad I got the opportunity to watch you grow up. Rest easy CJ.

Grateful to have met such a sweet, funny and outgoing young man. You will be missed and we will always remember you. Watch over your family and friends

To my nephew CJ! This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write. We will all miss you so dearly. Our family parties will never be the same without your jokes, laughter, and smile. I am so glad I was able to be a part of your life and watch you grow up into an awesome, caring, loving young man who always was there for all your cousins. I can’t choose a specific memory of Cesar, however when I think about it I realize that all my memories with Cesar are good ones. I appreciate that he was the type of person to  make your day better or bring a smile to your face when things are looking rough.  

Cj wasn’t just my little brother, he was one of my best friends, someone i can run to and talk about what’s hurting me bc we were always going through the same things. hurting over the same things. one of the funniest memories i have with him was actually when we were little and i was babysitting him and my siblings and we got into an argument and he chased me around the house with a butter knife. i had to lock myself in my room until my mom got home from the grocery store. there was also a time when i went to go visit him in vegas and he was messing around with me annoying me like little brothers do and we ended up getting into a wrestling match/punching each other. my little brother was my world and everything more. we were a whole 13 months apart but i felt like we were twins. that he’s always been a part of me from the moment i was born. i was meant to be a big sister bc of him. even though i only got to see him every two years or so he would always text me or call me or make sure he’s posting something on social media that i can talk to him about. he would always say “i’m so proud of you sis” or “we’re gonna get through this sis”… and now i have to get through this without him. Cj didn’t know how much people loved him, his mind consumed him so much but little did he know what impact he made on everyone. I promise you Cj, you will always and forever be loved. 

Cesar was always the person to bring a laugh to you on the good and bad days really no matter how you felt. A fond memory I have with Cesar is listening to Eternal Atake in the back of the class room the morning it dropped and geeking out about the album. It pains me and everyone else that he is no longer here with us but I along with everybody else who had Cesar close to their heart will continue to cherish the memories made with Cesar. 

CJ is my nephew but we grew up as cousins because we were close in age. We often played together at Grandma’s house in Stockton. Once he moved to Vegas, I wasn’t able to see him. I knew Mae was always in touch with him and I would get small updates for him on rare occasions. Even though we didn’t keep in touch as we got older, I know it’s all love. I wish we could have got to him sooner. Manang loves you CJ. Rest easy.

After high-school ended I became a ghost. I drifted away from everyone because I was fighting battles of my own. But Cesar was one of the few people I kept in touch with, we had a lot of crazy adventures and even became closer in my days of solitude. Cesar had this special aura about him that no matter how messed up you were, he was always able to make you come back to life. A true innocence I never dared to abandoned, a genuine kind heart that carried love for all. A true brother I never fully appreciated. I was fantasizing about success that would only bring illusions of sacrifice I felt I must take, but never did I commit. And so time passed me by as I continued to deepen my sorrow towards a cruel world. To victimized myself, I gave up and did so on the ones I cared about as well. I paid a heavy price for believing that once I achieved a state I felt worthy in is when I would return to the world of my brothers and sisters. They truly never understood how much I cherished them and now I could never show that to Cesar. I've wasted years on lies, hiding from the world. The very world I promised my existence would be of use. He gave his all while I continued to lie to our very last text. I could've seen him but selfish I was, I always been. Time is the most valuable thing you can ever give someone. These worldly things matter not, it's our people that make this all worthwhile. No one in the world is ever perfectly ok, have those heart to heart conversations. Grow up and be uncomfortable with those talks we're all just hurt kids inside, confused and lonely. This is reality, a chaotic world behind the calm gaze. Take the mask off and be vulnerable, Cesar will never know my truth nor yours. Nobody ever truly appreciates a moment until it's gone forever. I'm sorry, Cesar I love you man. No more dreaming I promise...

One of my favorite memories of me and Cesar is this little story. He didn't have a 24 fitness gym membership so we came up with a plan to get him in for free everytime. At night there would only be one worker, they faced the front where the sign in was necessary and so the entire gym was behind them. We called it the band-aid trick, I had him look through the window while I approached the worker from the back to ask for a band-aid. The first aid kit was on the back wall so that's why I always asked from that specific spot. He had about 7 seconds to walk past the desk while the worker was turned around occupied with me. I always told him be confident in whatever you do and no one will ever question you. So he would walk with his chest up like he owned the place and he would mess with me and walk super slow time to time. After we reunited after out little mission we always got hyped, jumping in the air hitting eachother laughing. Then we proceeded to play ball all night long, we would play 1 on 1. Giving him pointers and advice, him as well to me on details I couldn't sense in my form. We would talk about life and our futures, also talk crap about whoever we wasn't feeling. Him tryna slap box me time to time and after we would always hit up some place to eat. I remember the first time he got his car he was so excited to drive me to McDonald's after the gym. I was super happy for him and it was like a proud dad moment to see him driving ordering for the first time in the drive thru. I watched him grow from a boy to a man and I did alot of my own growing along side him. In that moment I felt grateful and so I remember it like it was yesterday, I remember it all C. I love you Cesar thank you for such fond memories, I'll cherish them forever my brother. I'm sorry.

We will miss you, remember all the times we argued who was better at basketball I will miss our friendly competition with each other.  Your laugh and voice will be missed forever our brother LLCJ ❤️

How lucky I was to have memories with someone  that makes saying goodbye hard. 

You always had something to say for everything , but you always knew how to make it out as a joke. Never thought I would have to be writing this out, but thank you for the genuine friendship I received from you in the time of us getting closer. I remember our freshman year of high school , only you would ever understand the joke . I know it’s going to be weird not seeing you around at the gym anymore; or you inviting me out to parties … I hope you’ll be taking care of everyone from above , Rest In Peace sweet boy … you made it with or without us … I’m so proud of everything you were able to accomplish and I just wished you would’ve pulled through to see the beautiful things life had to offer you , you’ll be missed forever and always in our hearts .

Cesar, always was with us, since he came to secta, and played on the basketball team, he was hard working always determined to be successful. Cesar was our brother, even the moments where he would be arguing and fighting with us to the moments we were crying of laughter. ❤️ He was family. Love you Ces

Cesar and our son Cruz played basketball together at SECTA and that’s when their friendship started.  Aside from the basketball court and school we saw Cesar at most of the gatherings and parties we threw. He was at our house quite often, whether it was just to talk to Cruz, work on their cars, or hang out with their friends until late at night (even on the days when Chris and I would be out of town because we saw them all on camera - they probably didn’t know that we were always watching them) but regardless Cesar was always there smiling and being a good friend to our son, Cruz. Whenever CJ would come around I’d ask him how he was doing and he’d always respond with “I’m good.” and give me a smile. He was always respectful and kind. I’d tell the boys to be careful and not do anything crazy that would get them into trouble. And of course they’d say “We won’t.” I appreciated the caring and loving friendship they had for each other. I remember having this conversation with CJ and Cruz at Cruz’s 19th birthday party at Resorts World, which was the last time we saw him.  Even at that time, he was being silly and dancing around. And when the party was done, he helped us clean up. Cesar was like another son we had, when he was around. We are going to miss him so much. We love you CJ, you’ll forever be in our hearts.

I’m Cjs older sister so this will never be an easy story for me to tell but he meant the world and more to me. We were glued to each other even if we were hundreds of miles apart. My love for him is unconditional until the day i die and everyday after that. 
Please, for speaking on the behalf of everyone. Don’t fight the battles of your mind alone. there IS help. there IS people that love you. and there will be people who will suffer without you. 

We had a basketball game at moapa valley it was probably our 4th or 5th game so we where pretty used to playing with each other as the game went on my attitude started to get worse cause I wasn’t playing well so right when CJ realized that he started to en encourage me and give me confidence and make me feel better that game he played amazing because he made others players feel confident that game I realized that I not only had a teammate but a brother for life.
