David Phillip Fernandez was born July 5, 1962 to Joe and Julia Fernandez. He has one sister, Debbie. David had a very happy childhood. He had a poodle named Sparky and two best friends, Wayne and Andy. David played baseball throughout his early childhood years and later David played football in high school for two years. David remained best friends with Wayne and Andy, even after high school. David loved to help his mother in the garden with his two Australian shepherds. David's family also had several cats. David and his family enjoyed many great family vacations together; camping in the mountains, great times going to Albuquerque to spend time with his mom’s relatives, and of course to Colorado to see his dad's family including his dad's 14 brothers and sisters, many cousins, aunts and uncles who were able to make it here today. Thank you all for coming and for your love, prayers and support during this difficult time. David was very upbeat and happy with a very strong work ethic. He loved serving his country the three years he spent in the Navy. He loved to go on drives, hikes, camping and boating, he also loved to play video games. He loved the beach, mountains and national parks. David took me along with him everywhere. He was so much fun to hang out with. David worked for Proctor & Gamble for over ten years until they closed the plant in Modesto. After he left Proctor & Gamble he moved to Las Vegas. David started working for Budget Suites in October of 2000 as a dispatcher. I started working with David in 2005 and married David in 2007. David was my rock, my better half. He was smart and beautiful, kind and loving, he was generous and thoughtful. We had a very special kind of love. David will be deeply missed by many people. I will love and miss him forever.
