David Pinto Madanelo, 78, a resident of Henderson, Nevada, passed away July 5, 2014 in his home after a bravely fought battle against cancer. He was born May 1, 1936 in São Pedro do Sul, Portugal to David and Maria Madanelo. He married his wife, Isaura Goncalves de Oliveira, at the age of 32 in Viseu, Portugal. He came to the United States in 1974 to pursue the American dream. He lived in Boston, Massachusetts for approximately 33 years before moving to Henderson, Nevada. He obtained his citizenship and became an official US citizen in 1988. He worked most of his life for an airport catering service before retiring in 2004. He loved traveling back to Portugal every year to visit his family. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed good food, watching television, and reading the newspaper. He is survived by his wife, Isaura; his daughters Fernanda Guanci and Nellie Shuler; his son-in-laws Thomas Guanci and Greg Shuler; and four granddaughters, Gabriella, Isabella, Olivia and Rebecca, all of whom live in Henderson, Nevada, and bought great joy to his life.
