Boyd has been a Las Vegas resident since 1974. Born July 5, 1931 in Medford, OR and raised in Olympia, WA. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from Northwest Nazarene University. He was a high school coach and in the summer a supervisor for Bird's Eye before joining Montgomery Ward. Boyd was a store manager in Nampa, ID, Kalispell, MT, Klamath Falls, OR before coming to Las Vegas where he was a store manager for 13 years at Charleston Blvd. He was a past member of Rotary for 25 years and 20 years as a board member at Central Christian Church. He became a financial advisor in 1987 and owned Boyd Investment Services with his son and daughter. His wife Velta "Dena" wed Aug 6, 1955 survives him. He has two daughters Diane and Denise (Bill Lynn) and two sons Richard (Linda) and Darryl (Cary). He has five grandchildren, and two great grandcildren.
