

Donald James Riggio, age 75, passed away suddenly on June 3, 2024, in Las Vegas. Donald was born in the Bronx, New York to Michael and Margaret Riggio on September 7, 1948. He graduated from St. Helena’s Catholic High School in the Bronx. He then went to work for Consolidated Edison as an engineer and retired after 37 years. He married Carol Swiss-Riggio on December 30, 2003 in Las Vegas. Donald was a published author of historical novels and short stories about the Doo-Wop and 60s’ musical eras. His books were ranked No. 1 on Amazon in their category. He was also a 20-year member of the Henderson Writers’ Group and currently was serving as their Vice President. He is survived by his wife, Carol Swiss-Riggio, stepson, Alan Swiss and step grandson, Zachary Swiss; brother, John Riggio, nephew, John Michael Riggio; sister-in-law, Maureen Riggio, niece, Clarice Riggio, great-niece, Kaylee Michelle Riggio; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Greg and Sandy Leonhardt. A visitation for Donald will be held Monday, June 10, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Eastern, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A funeral service will occur Monday, June 10, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. A reception will occur Monday, June 10, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
