Donna Mae Higginbotham

Born on February 13, 1935 in Duncansville, PA to Robert and Eleanor (Snavely) Smith. Eleanor was one of 11 siblings and the Snavely ‘clan’ offered Donna many aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws to share her loving spirit with throughout her life. Family was truly at the center of her love and life.

Donna married Victor Robison in 1956 and had two sons, Kevin and Brian. Vic passed away in 1971.

Donna married Troy Higginbotham in 1979 in Indianapolis, IN. Kevin married Deborah Carles in 1983 in Rockton, PA and they had two daughters, the granddaughters Donna loved so much and was so proud of, Natalie in 1991 and Madeline in 1996. Brian married Susan Chase in 1985 in Indianapolis and now resides in Las Vegas, NV.

Donna was preceded in death by her brother David and sister Joyce.

A Hollidaysburg High School graduate, class of 1952, Donna studied medicine and became a Registered Nurse in Altoona, PA. Toward the end of her career, she became a teacher of Licensed Practical Nursing. Donna and Troy retired to their paradise, the West coast of Florida in 1989 and lived there until Troy passed away in 2012.

Donna resided in Las Vegas until September 26, 2022 when she was called home to be with the Lord. She will be missed but remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who enjoyed giving much more than receiving. She never stopped doing for all those around her.

As her life and love are celebrated and her strong faith is remembered by all those who knew her and whose lives she touched, the family suggests a donation be made to your local library in her memory as Donna was an avid reader and always had a book nearby.
