She was born In Fargo, North Dakota to Arthur and Hilda Peterson. She had two older brothers, Edward and Kenneth. The family moved to California when Doris was thirteen years old.
Doris attended Hoover High and Glendale College. Doris so enjoyed choir; she sang a “Capella" with a group and had a beautiful voice. Doris excelled in business, typed (old style... on type-writers) over 120 wpm, and also took shorthand.
Doris worked In the banking field as the V.P.'s secretary for over twenty years, until retirement. She was so dedicated and a hard-working lady.
Yearly Yosemite National Park family and dear friends' vacation was a passion that started when her children were very young, and lived with love and fondness thru each and every year with all.
Doris loved dancing with her beloved Joe, they put smiles on faces. They were a beautiful couple, always with so much love for each other. She enjoyed her gardening, had beautiful roses, fruit trees and vegetables. Such a terrific cook... her Chili, Tacos, and Mac and Cheese were like no other, simply the best. And of course, being with her family was #1 in her book.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe; her children Curtis Parish and Colleen Melancon; and her parents
She is survived by her children, Cathy Ford, Connie Splinter and Craig Parish; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was the best mom anyone could ever wish or ask for.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00am, January 27, 2019 at Palm Eastern Mortuary. Burial will be held at 10:00am at Palm Eastern Cemetery, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
