He was the second-longest-tenured trustee in California history; his leadership celebrated through his presidency of the Antelope Valley School Boards Association. With the steady support and encouragement of his beloved wife, JoElla Wilson, herself an esteemed educator, community advocate, and philanthropist, Earl emerged from his early shyness as a confident leader, embodying the essence of resilience and personal growth. She preceded him in death in 2009.
Earl and JoElla are survived by their treasured children, Gregory Wilson and Pamela Wilson Humes (Paul), who carry forward their parents' legacy of compassion, service and love.
