

When Elsje "Elizabeth" Erin Maree Stutsman walked into the room, those in her company felt energy, an enthusiastic spontaneity. This was just one example of who Elizabeth was and how she impacted those around her. Elizabeth was a clever and gregarious person who always sought out the finest attributes in other people. It was as if Elizabeth wanted to share all of their experiences, revel in their lives and celebrate their discoveries. Elizabeth was tireless and had boundless enthusiasm that would serve her well throughout her life.
Elizabeth was born on October 19, 1989 at Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina, California. She was the daughter of Darrell and Vicci Stutsman. Elizabeth was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Always at the ready with a good joke, she grew up to be quite a humorous person. While some who knew Elizabeth might describe her as an idealist, she possessed good common sense.
Elizabeth had six siblings and one niece. She had three older brothers: Jayson, Ryan, Evan, two sisters-in-law: Ashley and Kayla, and one niece: Chelsea Erin Maree. Elizabeth was very accepting and supportive of her family.
As a young girl, Elizabeth was able to empathize and identify with a vast array of people and personality types. This quality drew her into a diverse group of friends and acquaintances. Elizabeth was intelligent and had little trouble getting along with other people. Elizabeth took part in soccer; which she also enjoyed coaching. She was a Soccer Coach and active in Gay Pride. In her spare time she liked to baby sit. Elizabeth's memorable achievements included A/B Honor Roll in the 1st grade, and passing two math classes with A+s in 8th grade for her Step-Dad. Elizabeth had the ability to find amusement with almost any activity. Her favorite class in high school was Lunch. She loved her Broadcasting class with Dub.
With a talent for making acquaintances easily which in turn brought her an endless stream of friends, Elizabeth was very sociable and could blend without effort into any social group. Assertive and outgoing, Elizabeth was easy to know and demonstrated a deep concern for others. She always seemed aware of what was going on with people around her and throughout her life she made many, many friends. While growing up, some of her best friends were Tanae, Kelly, Samantha, Shelly, Stacy, Nestor, Michael, Carrie, Kayla, Lindsay, Kyle Casebeer, Michelle Miller, Troy, and Courtney. Later in life, she became friends with Dub, Damaris, Janet, Christina Guadelupe, Fox, QB, Josh, Nikki, Tommy, Melanie, Travis, Robert, Brittany, Stephanie, Puerto Rican Chris, The Davidsons, and The Di Carlos.
For Elizabeth, parenting was a particularly enjoyable and pleasurable part of her life. Elizabeth was blessed with the guardianship of one child: Colton, whom she had a skill for understanding.
Elizabeth was uplifted by new ideas and was excited by life’s possibilities, traits that made her an exceptional worker. Her primary occupation was dancing.
Elizabeth derived much satisfaction from participating in and watching sports. Her charisma, supportive nature and ability to improvise when called upon to do so all made perfect attributes for enjoying a great many sporting activities. In high school, Elizabeth played hockey. Recreational sports included Wii golf. Elizabeth was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed watching her favorite events whenever she got the opportunity. Tops on her list was the Minnesota Vikings Football- NFL.
Throughout her life, Elizabeth was actively involved in professional and community organizations. She was compassionate, accommodating and quick to move into action. Always able to build a consensus, Elizabeth seemed to be the person in the middle of things, working to get things done. Those who had the opportunity to work with Elizabeth usually agreed that when you were involved in an organization with her, it was as entertaining as anything you could imagine. In high school, Elizabeth was a member of the Broadcasting Class. Throughout her later years, Elizabeth was an active member of the Gay Pride and enjoyed helping the homeless people.
Because Elizabeth was constantly in the center of things and where the action was, she always seemed willing to join in and help, regularly getting involved in community activities. Elizabeth's gift of planning and improvisation, along with a talent for rallying support, made her a great asset. Elizabeth found new ways of getting things done in order to help make just about every activity more efficient and enjoyable. Elizabeth was an active member of several community groups, serving on committees for the Gay Pride. Politically, Elizabeth was for Gay Rights.
Though she never did anything solely for individual recognition, Elizabeth's ingenuity, resourcefulness, and selflessness, earned her accolades for her many lifelong efforts. Some of her most prestigious awards included the #1 Daughter Award.
Elizabeth's love of improvising in her daily life was a perfect fit for her enjoyment of traveling. Her favorite vacations were ones that were not planned. Traveling in a casual manor fit her personality well. Excited about seeing changing scenery and constantly looking for the enjoyment life could offer, Elizabeth took her vacations seriously, well, as seriously as she possibly could. Favorite vacations included Disneyland, Huntington Beach with Evan, Idaho, Seattle, Santa Monica, the Dunes, and Big Bear.
Elizabeth was a lover of animals and cherished her pets which included a Pit Mix, Daisy Mae Boo, a Chow, D.O.G. 1, & D.O.G. II, a Shepperd Mix, named Phelani Miranda Jailbird, two Boxers, Tammy & Bailey, and a Yorke named Weezy. Her family was rounded out by her pet hamsters Peaches I, and Peaches II.
Elizabeth Stutsman passed away on November 16, 2010 at Desert Springs Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Elizabeth fought a brave battle against a heart condition. She is survived by Mom & Dad, Vicci & Darrell, Step-Parents Bruce & Diana, her three brothers, Jayson, Ryan, and Evan, and her two sisters-in-law Ashley & Kayla, her niece, Chelsea Erin Maree, her aunt & uncle Tante Babes & Uncle Daryl, her nephew, Scott, three step-brothers, Johnny, Jason, & Sean Mele, her first love, William, her love partner, Janet, & her son through guardianship, Colton. Services were held at Palm Mortuary on 7600 S. Eastern Avenue in Las Vegas, Nevada.
There was always a certain style and inventiveness to Elizabeth. She was a dynamic, self-expressive person who was forever looking to celebrate the endless possibilities life had to offer. She had a knack for being clever, creative and witty, and for others, was a joy to be around. While she was often fiercely independent, it seemed as if many others looked to Elizabeth Stutsman for inspiration, leadership, wisdom and even courage. Elizabeth was always more than willing to share life’s experiences with her loved ones. She is Mommy's Baby Girl XXX OOO and Daddy's Biffy, My Daddy.
