Ellen Ruth Steinhoff, 71, of Las Vegas, passed away March 11, 2011. She was born Oct. 12, 1939, in Bronx, N.Y. , and resided in Nevada since 1988. She graduated from the Bronx High School of Science and graduated Cum Laude from Syracuse University. She received a masters degree from Palmer School of Library Science, Long Island University. Ellen retired from elementary education as a library media specialist. She was a loving homemaker, devoted wife and mother and was involved in numerous women's groups. Ellen is survived by her husband, Carl Steinhoff; sons, Scott and Aaron Steinhoff, all of Las Vegas; sister, Marcia Schneider; niece, Jill Sutcliff, both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; nephew, Michael Schneider of New York; and grandniece, Sabrina Sutcliff of Ft. Lauderdale. Services were at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
