Emily Hernandez Puentes, 40, a resident of Las Vegas for the past 20 years, went to join our heavenly Father on September 21, 2012. She was born on September 28, 1971 in Havana, Cuba to proud parents Juan and Elena Hernandez. She was married to the love of her life, Arturo Puentes, of North Miami Beach, Florida.
Emily, at the young age of 16, met Arturo while attending the Robert Morgan Vocational Institute in Miami. She was studying to be a beauty technician and he was studying to be a medical assistant. They moved to Las Vegas a year later to start their new life together. Emily and Arturo became husband and wife on August 19, 1995. In September of 1996 they welcomed their pride and joy, Adriel Puentes, their only child.
She is survived by her husband, Arturo; son, Adriel; parents, Juan and Elena Hernandez; brother, Humberto Hernandez; and several family members. A visitation followed by a reception will be held on September 28, 2012 at Palm Mortuary on Eastern from 3pm – 11pm. Mass will be held at St. Viator on Flamingo at 10am, September 29, 2012 followed by burial at Palm Cemetery on Eastern.Arrangements under the direction of Palm Eastern Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
