She was born on March 20, 1924 in the Philippines where she met her first husband, Charles Pasay, Sr. She later moved to Oahu, Hawaii, where she met her second husband, Lawrence Chong.
She had a total of nine children with Charles Pasay, Sr.; five daughters and four sons, Benigno, Ligaya, Lucille, Rebecka, Meriam, Eunice, Charles Jr., Joel, and Rusty. She also had a lot of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she loved all dearly.
She enjoyed many things in life and lived life to the fullest. She loved to go out with her husband Larry, going dancing, bowling and singing to one of her favorite songs like "Lady in Red". She also loved to eat at fancy restaurants, cruising around the island of Oahu, or out shopping at Macy's or Nordstrom, where she purchased her many boots that she loved collecting and organizing in Larry's exercise room that she turned into her own personal shoe storage room. At home, you could either find her playing on her organ, reading a book, or in her garden growing roses and orchids, so big that it would reach as tall as her house.
Her biggest thing in life was her kids and grandkids. She could light up a room with her contagious laugh, goofy faces and loud personality. You could count on her to show up at every special occasion or holiday, wearing her bright red lipstick, kissing everyone on their cheeks and noses, staining their faces. She would be telling everyone around her to always love one another no matter what. Showing her wisdom and positivity about life, or speaking about family and forgiveness, so that her family would always stay close together, no matter what obstacles they went through. Good and bad times, she was always there.
