Eulogy for Evelyn Trott
07/27/1927 to 12/24/2024

Good morning everyone. Thank you for all coming today. We are here to celebrate, remember and honor my mother, Evelyn Trott.
 Mom was a feisty 97 year old who tried so hard to be independent. She did whatever she could for herself.
She was strong yet fragile, sweet and spicy, and just a person that I loved, and miss terribly. My mom was a lucky lady. She was fortunate enough to be married to my dad for nearly 72 years. His name was Harry. They stuck together like glue and went everywhere together. My mom decided to retire to Las Vegas, NV, from Astoria, New York. She loved it out here. was fortunate enough to be able to go to college at UNLV when she was in her 70s. She liked the casinos and buffets at Sam’sTown. She was an avid reader writer, poet, scrabble player, completed the New York Times crosswords, read her Bible, liked Medical shows like new Amsterdam, Chicago med and The Good Doctor. She enjoyed TV, watching hundreds of episodes and reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond, the Golden Girls, and Two and a Half Men, especially the ones with Charlie Sheen. She named her colostomy after Charlie. We can't forget her plant Daisy either. Everything had a name. Mom was also very fortunate to have a best friend for 60+ years named Rosalie and her husband John. They frequently came out to visit from New York to see mom when they could and always called each other on the phone. Mom called herself, Trotsky when she answered it. The two of them were adorable because neither one of them could hear on the phone. I can't hear you, what? Anyway, they loved each other like BFFs. Such wonderful people. She was also fortunate to have my husband and I move in with her in 2020 with my dad. I Hospiced my dad in 2020, and my mother since 2022. It's been a long haul for both of them, but now they are together. 
Sometimes mom and I would butt heads, but at the end of the day, our ritual was to apologize, say I love you, kiss good night an

God sent an angel to care for my mother in-law. That was my beautiful daughter Alana. Daddy loves you with all his heart ❤️.

Well now Grandma trott and grandma Zeleny are welcoming Mom in heaven. And you Harry is there with that adorable innocent smile of his.  Love ya

I love these two so very much. The true sight of ever ending love.  I hold so much respect for both of them. They were definitely one in a million. See ya again in heaven

This is Tracy, my former sister-in-law who has always been in touch with me through the years. She’s always asked for my mom and wanted to know how everybody was doing. She would send me old family photographs from years ago. We would chat and laugh. She is my sister, the one I never had. She truly loved Mom.

This is Tracy, my  former sister-in-law, who always kept in touch with me through the years. Always texting, calling,  Facebooking and always asking about mom constantly.. She is truly family to us. She is the sister I never had. She is my sister.

To you I was your sunshine, Nurse Ratchet, Nurse Right (first name Always), and your granddaughter. 
To me you were my partner in crime, my buddy, my angel, and My Grandmother. I wish I could say we were going into the new year together, but God has other plans for you and grandpa. I love you forever. Thank you for being the best you could always. You’re the strongest most stubborn woman I know, and I loved all of it. I would kill to play another game of Scrabble right now. You’re a whole inspiration. I’m blessed we share the same Wedding Anniversary, with all the same meaning. Thank you for being the best Grandma. And this was Mom after her haircut. She loved getting those. Usually lauren would do them, but I didn’t have any pictures but this time we took her to a salon just to get her out of the house. We would take her to little places like Panera’s or get her haircut,  take her to Walmart or to her hearing aid place, or the casino... She loved getting out.

This was in our apartment when we moved in with my mom and dad and my mom insisted on cooking. We had to let her do something. Lol.

Mom at Panera’s with us. Her favorite place to go for her broccoli and cheddar soup. These were days when she felt better several years ago. It’s too bad it had to change, but God had other plans.

Mom, I will always miss you and love you forever and ever. I will see you on the other side someday. I will never forget you nor your stubborn ways, but it never stopped how I felt about you. If I had to do all over again, I absolutely would. I’ll meet you and dad someday. But I’m taking John with me. Love you, mom. ❌⭕️❌⭕️❌⭕️❤️❤️❤️

This is Raina, Evelyn‘s granddaughter who lives in Florida and couldn’t be here. Picture below are Evelyn‘s great grandchildren whom she never met. Raina  is still active on the phone with us and has spoken to Mom.

I didn’t have any good pictures of me and Mom together because I was always the photographer. I was always here for her the whole time and even before I moved in. I loved my mother very much and we came to terms with each other before she passed. She was telling me in the very end how much she loved me and my husband over and over. It wasn’t easy taking care of her, but I did the very best that I could. I hope she is resting in peace and she is with my dad. I hope that she knows John and I love her very Much.

Very important people in mom’s life. Better days. Mom was loved by a lot of people although we had a very tiny family. I just like to show some of the good days.

After my dad died, my husband and I moved in with Evelyn to take care of her. She was a fairly independent woman with a walker who was a bit stubborn and stoic, but I know she loved us. She really didn’t want to  move into My Home because she was comfortable where she was at. We argued and the case was closed. We were moving back to our house. She came to love it. And this became home , where John,  myself, and my daughter and Eli  looked after her until she died. She was our mom and we did whatever we could do for her to make life easy.
