Frank Robertson known as Frankie of Valencia, CA, passed away on Friday March, 21, 2025 at the age of 76. He was born on August 29, 1948 in Chicago IL to James and Mary Robertson.
Frank was the youngest of 7 children, and he was born with a heart condition, but he did not let that stop or slow him down. His big brother Mac said that he could remember helping to take care of his little brother, and even sometimes having to carry him if it was necessary.
As a youth Frank along with his siblings were very involved in church, specifically with the Metchem Youth Center in Chicago IL.
Frank was lucky enough to be a “sibling” in more than one family. He was born a Robertson, but he ended up having a true and loyal friendship with his childhood friend and buddy George Chism. Frank and George have been friends for over 60 plus years! Along with George's wife Kathie and the rest of George’s family they had some great times ranging from as grand as traveling the world together or even as small as a fun family cookout at the Chism’s house. Anyone who would see Frank and George together instantly understood how they stayed friends for a lifetime.
Frank graduated from Chicago Vocational high school, and shortly after attended Loop Junior College now known as Harold Washington College. Frank worked in various industries, but stayed behind a computer monitor. He thoroughly enjoyed his position at Princess Cruise Line for over 20 years. Frank was not an avid cruiser, he did enjoy the role that he played in his job with helping families and people enjoy life, and he made many great friendships with his colleagues.
He shared his love of music, especially Jazz with anyone who had an ear to listen. Frank loved his music and was known for making personalized mix tapes and CD’s tailored to that person's particular musical taste.
Frank also had a close and special relationship with his niece Tanya, nephews Darryl, and Kelly. They enjoyed a lot of bingo, and delicious meals with their Uncle Frankie.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents James and Mary, Sisters Josephine, Bettie, Nonie, and Brother Archie.
He leaves behind a daughter Nabilah, a granddaughter Taliah, a sister Dorothy, a brother McKinley (Connie), along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service for Frank will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada 89123.
