During World War II, Georgia married Robert Ellis, a Navy Sea Bee. They had four children, Robin, Meredith, Pamela and Kenneth. After a divorce, she relocated to Las Vegas in 1957 and married Charles O'Neill. They had a daughter, Kelly. She raised five children with all the wisdom and kindness one could have hoped for. She always said "Take the high road" or "This too shall pass” or “It's just as easy to dress up as it is to dress down". The girls were lucky to have been taught sewing and cooking. She made their clothes for high school and could whip out a dress in a day! These were valuable lessons to learn for adulthood.
Along the way, she attended college at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and UNLV. She had various retail positions and was employed as a nanny until her retirement. She was an accomplished artist, always studying and practicing her painting, but, mostly, she was an extraordinary homemaker. She created a warm, nurturing environment for her family. Her endless curiosity (especially in all things electronic), and her playfulness kept her young at heart. She was always optimistic about life and the future, and was still making plans even in the last days of her life.
Georgia was preceded in death by her daughter Kelly Lohoff; mother Charlotte Robbins; father George Robbins; brother Kenneth Robbins; first husband Robert Ellis; and second husband Charles O'Neill.
She is survived by her children Robin Mallwitz of New York and William Mallwitz (son-in-law), Meredith Ellis, Pamela Ellis, Kenneth Ellis, Christine Ellis (daughter-in-law); her sister Carol Meaney; grandchildren Matthew Mallwitz, Meredith Mallwitz, Aaron Ellis, Eric Bowker, Ariel Shultz, Kenneth Ellis II, Natalie Miller, Amanda Witte, and Michelle Lohoff; long-time companion Jack Vonderohe; and ten great-grandchildren.
