Hildegund E. Stolarczuk

Hildegund "Hilde" Elisabeth Stolarczuk, 81, a resident of Henderson, Nevada, died on February 13, 2015 due to a stroke at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hilde was born on December 30, 1933 in Worms, Germany to Hermann and Luise Schroeder. Hilde remembers life in Germany as poor but adventuresome with her siblings Margarete (d. 2013), Hermann, Manfred, Irmgard (d. 2002), and Wilhelm (d. 1943). Hilde had survived the bombings in her hometown during World War II. She first married Ernst Mueller in 1952 with whom she gave birth to her only daughter, Sieglinde in 1953. Hilde moved to the United States in 1960 where she then married Eugen Stolarczuk in Lawton, Oklahoma. Eugen and Hilde eventually settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she kept a beautiful home. She enjoyed gardening, dancing with friends at the VFW club, cooking delicious German foods, baking, chatting on the porch with friends, and hosting family and friends at her home. Her home was the foundation for many of the family's favorite memories. In 1997, Hilde moved to Henderson, Nevada with her daughter and then son-in-law Danny. She passed the time reading by the pool, enjoying local casino entertainment and shopping with her daughter. In her final years, Hilde loved to reminisce about the simple life in Germany, holidays with the family, the beauty of Colorado as well as the good times with her Colorado friends. It is family that brought Hilde the most happiness. Besides her daughter, she was always elated by visits from her grandchildren Scott, Brian, and Danial as well as her eight great-grandchildren. She was compassionate, generous, and humble. She was often in disbelief of the love that so many had for her. She is survived by her daughter Sieglinde and son-in-law Victor; grandchildren Scott, Brian, and Danial; her brothers Hermann and wife Kaethe, Manfred and wife Ingrid; nieces Eda, Ria, and Sandra and husband Egbert; nephews Siegmund and wife Margit, and nephew Dirk; as well as her many great-grandchildren and cousins. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 1:00pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00; commitment service will begin at 3:00pm.
