Jack was born in Pittsburgh, Kansas on September 21, 1955 to parents Nancy (nee McRoy) and Jack Dorr Taylor Sr. He was their first-born son. He lived in Pittsburgh for only a short time as his father was called to active duty in the Army. He then grew up as an Army “brat”. During the ensuing years, he became the oldest brother to his sister, Debra, and to two younger brothers, James and David (Cindy), all of whom survive him. He never married and was preceded in death by his mother.
Jack spent his youth on various posts and played on many youth baseball and basketball teams. Summers were spent by the pool and at Timberline Trails Boys Camp in the Colorado Rockies. The biggest summer event came when his grandfather felt that the grandsons and their fathers needed to spend some quality time together-it turned out to be a “white water rafting” trip down the Green River in Colorado and Utah and was a great trip for all.
Jack did find time to finish his under graduate work at the University of Kansas, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in general Studies. He subsequently worked at the MGM Grand. He eventually took over as President of the family farm corporation in Missouri and remained there until his passing. Jack was a loving and caring son and brother who helped other family members when they battled health issues. He was active in the Youth Ministries of his church.
In lieu of flowers, he would ask that you send a donation to the Hope Church Next Generation, 850 E. Cactus Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89183.
