Jane Ann Cross

Jane Ann Cross, 95, of Las Vegas, passed away June 22, 2021. She was born May 2, 1926, to Daniel and Leova Thalman, in St. Petersburg, Florida and was a 55-year resident of Las Vegas, Nevada. She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduating from Will Rogers High School and went to work for the Ethyl Corporation. She was married to Jack Arnold Cross on August 21, 1948 to December 28, 2018. Jack and Jane moved to Illinois where Jane served as a Candy Striper for the Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. During this time they had a son and two daughters. She also worked as a secretary for the school district in Champaign, IL. They returned to Tulsa in 1960 where she continued her secretarial career in insurance.

In 1966 the Cross family moved to Las Vegas, NV as Jack began a career at the Nevada Test Site. Jane continued her secretarial career, retiring after approximately 30 years from the Southern Nevada Health District. She was a wonderful, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Jane was preceded in death by her husband Jack, of 70 years. Jane is survived by her daughters Amy (Ralph) Smiecinski and Sydney Cross (Robin Little); son, Nathan (Melanie) Cross; grandchildren, Sarah (Tim) Pregill, Peter (Blair) Smiecinski, Bennett (Jennifer) Cross, and Mallory Cross; great grandson Jack Pregill, great granddaughter Joni Cross and 3 more great grandsons expected Fall of 2021. Jane will also be missed by her cat, Maggie. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., followed by burial at 11 a.m.; at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123.
