In Loving Memory of
Jeffrey Scott Johnson was a loving husband, a devoted father of three, and a proud grandfather of eight. His family was the joy of his life. He was a lover, a fighter, a friend, and a prankster. Jeff lived his life as his truest self and left a lasting impression on anyone lucky enough to cross his path. After a long career as a truck driver, he retired and split his time between his beloved lake house in Indiana and the home he shared with his sister in Las Vegas - the two places where he felt happiest.
Jeffrey was a patriot, a soldier, and a hero of the Vietnam War. He proudly served in the U.S. Army’s 196th Light Infantry Brigade from 1966 to 1968 as a field artillery operator and forward observer. He completed one tour in Vietnam, where he played a critical role in Operation Junction City. During this operation, Jeff was credited with saving the life of a fellow soldier by carrying him out of the line of fire. He was hospitalized shortly after and subsequently awarded the Purple Heart for his heroism and sacrifice. For the rest of his life, Jeff wore the patch of the 196th on his hat, on his sleeve, and on his heart.
Jeffrey Scott Johnson passed away peacefully on Friday, May 2, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones and listening to The Beatles. He is reunited in eternal life with his wife Kathleen, and his faithful dog, Joe.
