

Joe Dobbins, 53, a 50-year resident of Las Vegas, passed away May 12, 2012. Born in Anchorage, Alaska, Dec. 18, 1958, Joe was a true outdoorsman. He was an accomplished fly-fisherman, enjoyed hunting, camping in his sheep wagon, playing the guitar, and embellishing his golf score. A graduate of BYU, Joe was a teacher and the department chair of mathematics at Roy Martin Middle School. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Dobbins. He is survived by his mother, Minnie Dobbins; fiancee, Amy Forrest; daughters, Maddie and Anna Dobbins; sister and brother-in-law, Lance and Sue Wilson; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Sharon Dobbins; nieces, Rachel, Abby, Misti, and Jen; nephew, Ryan; and loyal hunting dog, "Doc" Holiday. Services will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 20, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Joe Dobbins Student Crisis Fund at Roy Martin Middle School, 200 N. 28th Street, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
