John Picard (Papa) of Las Vegas, NV passed away on April 15, 2019. Originally from Superior, WI, John was member of the Keewenaw Bay Indian Community, a US Navy Veteran and a graduate of Southern Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in Photography.
His love for life was shown through his photos. He always carried his camera wherever he went and captured all the proudest, happiest moments of his life and ours. He was a true family man and enjoyed spending time with his best friend and soulmate of 35 years, Cora. He was an avid hockey and football fan, with his favorite teams being the LA Kings, Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Green Bay Packers. His happiest times were family vacations, or the Sunday dinners spent together with his family. Although far away, he enjoyed the many conversations with his brothers and sisters who he held close in his heart. John was always there for anyone and everyone. For this, we are truly lucky to have had him in our lives.
John is survived by his beloved wife Cora, his three daughters, four grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters and genuine friends.
We'll always remember that special smile,
that caring heart, that warm embrace,
you always gave us.
You being there for Mom and us,
through good and bad times,
no matter what.
We'll always remember you Papa because
they'll never be another one to replace you
in our hearts, and the love we will
always have for you.
