West, John E. Jr., age 81, of Las Vegas, formerly of Matthews, NC, died on April 21, 2013 in Las Vegas. He was born on January 21, 1932 to John and Lola West in Ft. Mill, SC. Mr. West retired from Proctor and Gamble after 30+ years of service. He served in the United States Army, reaching the rank of Corporal. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Ellen West; children: Jan (Tommy) Jones, Kim West, Jill (Mark) White, John (Leah) West, Pamela (Ronnie) James, Gregory Stewart, Jeffery (Carol) Stewart; sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 28, 2013 3pm at Homestead Baptist Church, 105 W 22nd St, Kannapolis, NC. In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's name are suggested to Creekside Hospice, 7230 Gagnier Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89113.
