

John Robert Zagalo was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, John will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Simply stated, John was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. John leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
John Robert Zagalo left us during the early morning of Wednesday, September 26, 2018. He was born on August 12, 1964 in Monterey Park, California.
John grew up in El Monte, California where he attended Nativity Catholic School and El Monte High School. As a student, he participated in sports…he was on a wrestling team and also played baseball and football.
At the age of 18 years, John joined the USA Navy and spent six years. Here he earned his Certificate of Electricity and Electronics. While in the Navy he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Navy Rifle Marksmanship ribbons.
John moved to Las Vegas in 1993 where he first worked for the Nevada State Prison system as an electrician, before joining the Clark County’s RPM Operations Department from which he retired.
John was an avid sports enthusiast...he loved to watch the Oakland Raiders and the Dodgers. John frequently enjoyed playing golf, riding ATVs, camping, and both ocean and stream fishing. He enjoyed going on family vacations, cruising, and visiting Chihuahua, Mexico.
John was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. His family was rounded out by his dogs Patches and "Loco".
John was preceded in death by his parents Lupe and Edward Zagalo.
He is survived by his wife Ana; son Cody; brothers Ed and Rick; sisters Teresa and Laurie; Uncle Richard and Aunt Vicky; sisters-in-law Manola and Carol; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
John had so many close friends who deeply cared for him and will miss him so much.
His absence will bring us a reminder that life is too short to be anything but happy.
So, John, go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep, your love will be in our hearts eternally…
