Joyce Nielsen Schmutz, 83, of Las Vegas, passed away at home with family, June 28, 2014. She was born April 24, 1931, in St. George, Utah, to Joseph and Gladys Leavitt Nielsen. Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Stanton Eugene Schmutz Jr. Joyce is survived by her sister, Elsie Bracken and her husband, of 66 years, Stanton Eugene Schmutz Sr.; children, Jolene Schmutz, Sherri Archibald, Michelle Larkin and Chris Schmutz; grandchildren, Stanton Eugene Schmutz III, Richard Schmutz, Amber Chase, Joey Schmutz, Dawn Bingham, Noah Harbert, Mike Archibald, Sara Murray, Jed Archibald, Molly Peters, Nic Larkin, Sean Larkin, Levi Larkin, Zachary Schmutz and Katelin Schmutz; and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, with funeral services following, both at the LDS Hillpointe Ward Chapel, 9011 Hillpointe Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89145. Interment will follow the services at Palm Valley View Memorial Park-Eastern, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas.
