

Joyce Dee Anderson Truman passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, Nov. 4, 2011. She was born Aug. 12, 1933, in Ely. Joyce lived in Reno for many years and graduated from Reno High School, where she performed proudly as a Huskiette. She attended the University of Nevada and married Grant Truman in 1953. While married, they had six children. Joyce has lived in Las Vegas since 1964. Joyce worked as office manager for MS Concrete for 20 years. She loved the employees there and thought of them as her second family. She was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. Joyce loved traveling with her family, spending time gardening and enjoying musical theater and the opera, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by five children and their spouses, Clay Truman (Marla), Vicki Dew (Phillip), Gail Nelson (Ray), Rod Truman (Erin) and Paul Truman (Kristen). She is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Nancy Hawkins of Orem, Utah; and her brother, Grant Anderson (Pam) of Reno. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Grant Draper and Dee Bebe Anderson; and her infant son, Grant Jr. Viewing will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, with services following at 11 a.m., both at the Carnegie LDS Chapel, 2497 Cozy Hill Drive, Henderson. Burial will follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
