June Lorraine Fay, “the-sassy-pink-and-purple-haired-video-poker-playing-gum-smacking-little-lady”…affectionately nicknamed "June Bug,” has peacefully passed away, on Tuesday October 31st, 2017. June was born June 27, 1928. A native born Pennsylvanian, she moved to Las Vegas in the early 60’s. June somehow successfully combined her passion for her Pittsburg Pirates/Steelers teams with her UNLV Running Rebels, adorned from head to toe, in her favorite team’s colors. Luck was synonymous with her love for bingo and poker machines, she always “lit up,” while others bemoaned their fate as her defeated opponent. A lover of life, her family and friends, June is survived by her daughters Linda Leavitt, Sherry Rowe, Patty Linson, and Tawney Glore; her five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sons-in-law; and a slew of friends who almost “leaned” on her vivacious (no matter what “life on life’s terms” event was brewing) spirit, to glean “the glow,” while infectiously spreading it to others’. Always one for a party, it was fitting that her October 31st, 2017 passing coincided with the Advanced Health Rehabilitation Halloween party. At 3 PM, the hospital-like facility morphed into a party house…resplendent with treats, balloons, dog tricks, party music and yes, costumes. We were lucky enough to have a darling “Bumblebee” nurse, buzzing in to assist, and monitor, our mom’s vitals. We believe June Bug finds this all humorous, too. She received a call, a sort of “offer you can’t refuse,” for an appointment from which she will not be returning. June would like to let you know that her work here is done. This assignment comes with a HUGE “sign-on” bonus, an INCANDESCENT Reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long, long time. Her Job Security is exactly 110 percent. Her New Mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, Bingo and poker playing, and watching “Dancing with the Stars” to her heart’s content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious, and you NEVER gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for her children to CELEBRATE her mission here, which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated. We want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile, her warmth and comedy, her energy, her love for life, family and friends. She lived life to the fullest, right up to the very end. She made a difference in the lives of many. The World “According to June…a Pink Celebration" of her life will be held with a visitation on Wednesday, November 8 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm; followed by a funeral service from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. All services will be held at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. Services will be held with her favorite pastor, Pastor Henry Sneed.
