

Karl Michael Harrison, age 81, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2024, in the presence of his family, at Saint Rose Siena Hospital, Henderson, Nevada. He was born on June 9, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Jessie "Bullock" Harrison and Junius Richard Harrison, Sr.
After high school, Karl married Nettie "Royster" Harrison and was drafted by the Army. While serving in Vietnam, he taught school, and when he returned from Vietnam, he worked at the Pentagon. While at the Pentagon, he worked as a mathematician, doing stats work before they had computers.
Nettie and Karl later welcomed their first daughter Michele "Shelly" Harrison, and and several years later, their second daughter Karla Harrison. Once out of the military, Karl worked as a Junior high school math teacher, while attending Cheyney University. Once he graduated, they moved to Akron, Ohio.
In Ohio, he worked several years for Dupont, in Executive sales. He parted with Dupont, and moved the family back to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Once in Philadelphia, he owned a business with his brother handling stock merchandise. He later was given the chance to work for Xerox Corporation, in Executive sales. Additionally, he started his own photography business, even going to Santa school. While working these jobs, he also worked as an Air Force reservist for many years.
Still with Xerox Corporation, he moved the family to Cherry Hill, New Jersey and worked for them for several years. He left Xerox Corporation to only be recruited, by his friend Bryan Jackson who had moved from the Philadelphia Xerox branch to the Las Vegas branch of Xerox Corporation, and moved the family to Henderson, Nevada.
He always loved helping others, handling odd jobs for the numerous clubs for his wife, taking pictures, and making flyers in support of his creative side. Under the name... KMH Production & Designs.
He retired from Xerox Corporation but continued to work. He started Southwest Data Protection with his friend, Greg LeFrancis and his father, but later due to his health, he became a consultant for the business, and eventually retired from working.
Anytime family and friends needed a tour guide, he was ready and available. He loved dancing, traveling, golfing, fishing, and taking his grandkids on outings, and taking pictures.
Mike leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Nettie "Royster" Harrison, his two daughters Michele "Shelly" Cosey (Kent) and Karla Harrison. His three grandchildren, Jasmin Cosey (Andrew), Karl Mykal Harrison, Kayla Cosey and a bonus great-grandchild Vinny. Further, he leaves behind his two sisters, Elizabeth Hall and Valerie Cholmondeley and numerous nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Junius Sr. and Jessie and his brothers: Junius, Gregory, Virgil, and Noel. Who where waiting for him to play a game on pinochle.
