Leroy Linsenbardt passed peacefully in his sleep on Thanksgiving morning November 28, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Leroy was born in Russellville, Missouri in November of 1932 to Henry and Freda Linsenbardt. He moved to Las Vegas in 1955 as he had joined the Air Force and was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base. He was an airplane mechanic whose exceptional skill kept him in this role even after being Honorably Discharged. Leroy continued to work for the Air Force as a civil servant and held a second job at WMK concrete plant where he worked maintaining the equipment. An industrial accident at WMK cost Leroy his leg but led to him meeting the love of his life Gladys who was a nurse at the hospital. Leroy faced and conquered the accident and much more adversity, going on to marry Gladys, purchase apartment buildings, operate a repair business, and raise a family. He was an extremely hard-working man and was always willing to sit and chat with his tenants and his clients. When he wasn’t working 16 hours a day, Leroy enjoyed camping and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking and even took some woodworking classes.
Leroy was a graduate of Russellville High School. He married the then Gladys Dubrick in 1964. He and Gladys lovingly adopted three children: Karl, Mark and Dana. The family enjoyed camping and fishing trips to the surrounding areas of Las Vegas, doing puzzles and playing cards for endless hours that all of the children remember fondly to this day. He is survived by his three children, Karl Linsenbardt, Temecula, CA; Mark Linsenbardt and his wife Denly, Las Vegas, NV; Dana Souter, Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Kyle Ford, Kansas City, MO; Ryan Ford, Reno, NV; Jared Ford-Linsenbardt, Phoenix, AZ; Aiden Barraza, Chino, CA. He is also survived by his two brothers: Glen Linsenbardt, Las Vegas, NV and David Linsenbardt, Sedalia, MO.
