Linda was born January 29, 1948. Her mother, Frances Edwards, was born in 1910. Her father, Leonard Edwards, was born in 1901. Linda’s sister, Nancy (deceased), was a professor at Bakersfield College. Their brother, Harry, is a retired Colorado State University engineering professor. He lives in Fort Collins, CO. Linda has a niece, Laura Edwards, a nephew, William Edwards, and a grandnephew, David Edwards.
The Edwards family moved around a lot. After graduation from Cornell University, Leonard went to work at a chemical manufacturing plant in Philadelphia, the city where Linda was born. After two years in Philadelphia, the family relocated to West Virginia and then Tennessee before settling in Henderson, Nevada, where Leonard went to work at a chemical manufacturing plant. The three Edwards children attended schools in Henderson. Harry and Nancy went off to college. Linda, with her mother and father, relocated to Las Vegas, where Linda graduated from Las Vegas High School. She then earned a B.A. in English at UNLV, where she was active in literary activities. She went to work as a writer for a local daily newspaper. Linda credited Frances as the inspiration for her creative energy.
After working at the newspaper for several years, Linda applied her artistic talents to acting. Until her health began to decline, she worked as a performer in several live melodramas staged by Las Vegas resort hotels. She greatly enjoyed this work; these were some of her happiest years.
Toward the end of her life, Linda’s spiritual interests were awakened with loving encouragement from her dear friends, Susan and Linda. Linda passed away on May 23, 2019. Her remains are interred in the family gravesite at Palm cemetery.
