It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucie Melchert-Moya on June 7, 2019 at the age of only 45. Although taken from us entirely too soon her mother lovingly greeted her on the other side.
Lucie will be remembered and missed by her father Raul Moya, sons Cole and Sawyer, who were her everything, fiancé Jeff Hale, brothers Mario and Marco, sister Norma, best four-legged friend Maya, and many other family members and friends. Lucie was pre-deceased by her mother Lucila Moya.
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Lucie was a life long area resident. She graduated with honors from UNLV with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Communications. Her contributions to the Las Vegas area were numerous. Lucie quickly established herself as the areas leader in public outreach for highway construction projects. She worked side by side with engineers and contractors to deliver some of the largest and most complex transportation projects not only in the Las Vegas Valley but also across the State of Nevada. It is hard to find a road construction project in Sothern Nevada that Lucie did not work on.
Anyone who knew Lucie experienced her passion for life, quick wit, generous spirit and huge heart. She was a very private person, but never held back and you always knew where you stood with her, good or bad. She loved fiercely, especially her two sons. She had a passion for travel, which she loved to combine with visiting family on the west coast. Her smile was catching, her laugh contagious and her big beautiful brown eyes touched your soul. Whether you were a casual acquaintance or a close friend, she was always there for you and knowing Lucie was a gift.
A memorial will be held on Thursday, June 20th from 4-6pm at The Crossing Church 7950W. Windmill Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89113. In lieu of flowers contributions to her sons college savings fund can be sent to Edward Jones 689 Sierra Rose Dr. Reno, NV 89511 (account #7323992).
Lucie will be always loved, never forgotten and forever missed. Cheers to you Lucie!
